247th of Scion, 1325AE

I've got to say, this day was quite the eventful one though I was completely unaware of this at the beginning.

A day or so before, I had sent Ulfrick a short note to meet me at Lion's Arch for an adventure evolving an egg of extreme rarity. An asura by the name of Torkk had been blubbering about a lost artifact of his during a brief visit of the inter-racial port city. With my curiosity perked, I managed to extract some details out of him before my attention was taken elsewhere by the aroma of "Fries". Oh they were soooo delicious! Potatoes are a blessing upon this world and---...

I'm getting out of hand.

Once Ulfrick and I met up in Lion's Arch, we headed for the asuran capital of Rata Sum. Both of use were completely out of our element and the directions that Torkk had given me were confusing. Using both of our senses, we eventually found the lab that Torkk had described. It was nothing like I had imagined. For one, I wasn't quite aware that the lab was a sprawling complex that stretched beyond my sight even when upon a Vista. Both of us were unsure of raiding such a place and questioning if the egg would be truly worth it.

Steeling ourselves, we plunged into the "lab" to find the building under seige. Shades, drakes, bears, griffins... all sorts of creatures from across Tyria had somehow found themselves here. Before long we were nearing one of the rooms when a large party of mixed races descended upon us and aided in killing our foes. Their leader was as equally confused as we were when the battle waned. Ulfrick and I were wary, but we decided to join them.... mostly to make sure we acquired the egg first. We weren't being deceitful mind you... We just failed to mention why we were there to the full extent. The leader and his group didn't seem to mind as they had their own agenda.

Several strange concepts flew out the leader's mouth and my guess was he was speaking something only he and his party would understand. Fine by me, I was there to get the egg. Oh yeah... did I mention it was possibly a phoenix?

For a time we help them assault the Inquest base and all the while look for the egg. We eventually found it in one of the outer hallways being protected by a barrier. Luckily, Ulfrick's random mashing of buttons proved fruitful and we were able to retrieve the egg.

My brain grows fuzzy at the memories following. We were suddenly assaulted by a giant fire elemental. People were going down left and right... it was horrible. I helped where I could, focusing more on the injured than vanquishing the creature to where ever it spawned from. When it was killed, the leader approached both of us asking to meet with us at Crow's Nest in Lion's Arch.

After fixing Ulfrick's pulled shoulder, we meet with the leader and two others at the inn who we find out to be Vexander, Agrimony, and Liam Valentine. They told of us of their guild... or organization... or.. not quite sure what to call it. They mentioned things like sects and the Cartel. Ashenbold? Ashfold?.. eh I will come to know later as I am now apart of it. Though this recruitment brought out some old blood to surface... Reminded me why I even fought everyday... to protect the innocent. It really bothered me, their harshest punishment; to kill the family and friends connected to a traitor.... it was not a guild I wanted to represent, but definitely an opportunity. Perhaps I could help shape this Cartel into something not so dark.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention... the egg! While we were talking with the trio from the Cartel, the egg started to hatch. We all had our doubts if it was truly a phoenix or not.. mostly not... but a charr can hope right? Regardless... we were right. It wasn't a phoenix, but a salamander drake. Adorable nonetheless. I've decided to hold on to the little guy until he can fend for himself. Makes me wish I could be a ranger almost. For now, I've named him Charrly.
